The origin of non highway mine car in China dates back to the late 1960s and early 1970s. However, during this period, most of the coal mining cars were converted from highway trucks, which are not truly mine car from a technical perspective and have no competitive advantage compared to foreign products. Until the late 1980s, Inner Mongolia North Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd. was jointly established by China National Ordnance Industry Group and the American Trax Group. As the only Sino foreign joint venture in the domestic coal mining car industry, relying on the introduction of Trax technology, it successfully achieved mass production of specialized mining vehicles, thus opening a new development prelude for coal mining cars in China.
At present, there are more than ten enterprises in China that produce mining cart. The larger scale enterprises include Northern Group, Shougang Heavy Duty Truck, Xiangtan Electric Motor, Beijing Zhonghuan Power, Benxi Heavy Duty Truck, etc. There are also a large number of enterprises such as Sany Heavy Industry, Tonglian Heavy Industry, Tai'an Aerospace, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, etc., which are actively entering the mining cart industry. In addition, foreign companies such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Belas, and Liebherr are constantly seizing the Chinese market, The fierce competition in the mining cart market is no longer ordinary.
